  • is my neighbour trespassing when they work off my roof

My neighbour has designed a new dormer window that only has 11 inches of roof left on their roof. The builder is now using my roof space to construct the dormer. The neighbour has refused to offer a Party wall agreement. What is my recourse?

    Conservatory conversion

We have a 3.5m x 3.5m conservatory on the back of our house, that is useless in both the summer & winter months. The footings are 600mm deep, with a double skin dwarf wall of 12 courses of brick (block inner skin). My question is, can I remove the conservatory frame, glass and poly carb roof etc, and build an insulated timber frame, clad in hardiplank (or similar), with a tiled roof. It would have one big window on the front, and French doors in the same location as they are now. The internal doors into the house are external grade uPVC French doors. We just want a space that can be used more of the year than the useless conservatory can at the moment!!

    Painting metal siding

Is it okay to paint the metal siding of a house? Will it matter what type of metal is used and if so, which ones are okay to paint and which ones aren’t or might not be? How should I go about painting metal siding? Like, what sort of paint should I use and are there any ways I should treat it differently to other paint jobs? What steps should the work involve?
