Poured concrete foundations

If my foundations are to be 2m deep, is it OK to use poured concrete? Or should I be looking at piling or reinforced concrete?

"This is a question that building control or your structural engineer needs to answer due to various issues that you require 2M deep foundations. E.G localised trees near the proposed build, weight loading, its ok to use poured concrete into the correctly dug foundation with anti- heave sheets, rebar caging etc.

"If this is advised by local building control then all should be ok. Dropping a few rebars in concrete would not go amiss"

"As long as the footings are passed off by building control before pouring the concrete and the concrete poured is the correct concrete 2m deep foundations are fine with out the need to look into piling. A building control officer would be able to advise on this."

"Hello it all depends on what your local Building inspector advises, the builder cannot decide by themselves.

Hope this helped"

"Yes it is good to go ahead and do this 2 m deep perfect with concrete"

"Poured would be ok for standard foundation Although there must be a reason for them being so deep on your plans, if this is due to retaining higher ground then reinforcing could be required and you should chat with a structural engineer."

"Hi Caroline firstly the depth of foundation dig is determined on ground conditions with the final depth in the hands of the local building inspector appointed to your work
The answer to your question is yes you use ready mix concrete"

"At 2 meters deep piling would be best if you can’t do a raft foundation."

"Reinforced concrete. Easier to get ready mix concrete delivered"

"Generally a depth of 700mm is acceptable, as long as the ground has adequate bearing capacity. If the water table is high (for instance if the gravel is submerged), the bearing capacity will be halved, so it's important to keep the foundations as high as possible"
