My neighbour is being a problem we want to replace a roof tiles on our house. But how would it be possible if he doesn’t allow us access to get scaffolding up on his side. 3 sides of the roof can be replaced but the side which is on the neighbours side won’t be reached as cannot get any scaffolding up. Any idea what can be done.
I want to completely remove an old electric bar heater from my bathroom wall for tiling and don't want to reconnect anything, is it safe to cut the wires, tape them and then push them back through the wall?
Recently I have purchased a new plaster ceiling rose (approx. 90cm in diameter) and I will be having a room re-plastered and decorated in the coming weeks. The decorator I have hired has not had much experience with installing ceiling roses and certainly not one as large/heavy as this one. If anyone has any experience with this, could they please recommend the best options to install it safely and successfully. Many Thanks, P
Is it true that the smooth half of any fencing put up by my neighbour must face towards my property?
We have a fitted kitchen with standard height worktop. We need to replace a dishwasher from a Fisher Paykell dish drawer type to a Miele integrated one. So we need to get a new front door piece for the integrated machine. We have had difficulty sourcing a door from the kitchen supplier so were looking at a Miele stainless steel one 60cm wide X 72cm but our kitchen doors are 77cm. To me this looks as if the dishwasher front will look strange as the lower edge of it will sit higher than the lower edge of the doors. Is there a way round this?
How much to core a standard 4" extractor fan hole through brickwork in a bathroom please? No other install needed. Just the hole cored.
Been advised dashing is good so it can be dashed over, is this safe?
I am having my roof done and we are an end terrace, therefore connected to another terrace house. My roofer has taken the mortar that was connecting the two roofs off to fix our problem and has found problems with weatherproofing with next doors roof. Should he have informed next door first of any potential problems before starting the work?
I have a nearly square area of 5 x 5 metres right up to the boundary fences, which I am thinking of building living space, for use as office space and/or temporary living accommodation. I liken it to a studio apartment with kitchen, bathing, living, sleeping areas. What would be the best way to start exploring this project. Would I need planning, architectural services? Any advice would be appreciated at this stage.
I am looking at buying a property that would need to be taken back to the shell and made good. Hasn't been touched in thirty years. Rewiring the whole place, possible plumbing updates, does have central heating, knocking one wall down between kitchen and dining room. It is a two storey three bedroom semi detached house. Size is approx one hundred and twelve square metres. If I am looking for a medium finish how much would it cost? And how long would it take?
