Hi, I have some rips in the lining paper in a house I've just moved into. It looks like these are from command strips stuck to the walls, so it's just ripped the surface of the lining paper off. I want to paint over these but because of the fluffy texture I'm not sure if the paint will stick. How would I fix the ripped patches? Any help/advice would be appreciated, thanks.
I am having my roof done and we are an end terrace, therefore connected to another terrace house. My roofer has taken the mortar that was connecting the two roofs off to fix our problem and has found problems with weatherproofing with next doors roof. Should he have informed next door first of any potential problems before starting the work?
I have a nearly square area of 5 x 5 metres right up to the boundary fences, which I am thinking of building living space, for use as office space and/or temporary living accommodation. I liken it to a studio apartment with kitchen, bathing, living, sleeping areas. What would be the best way to start exploring this project. Would I need planning, architectural services? Any advice would be appreciated at this stage.
I am looking at buying a property that would need to be taken back to the shell and made good. Hasn't been touched in thirty years. Rewiring the whole place, possible plumbing updates, does have central heating, knocking one wall down between kitchen and dining room. It is a two storey three bedroom semi detached house. Size is approx one hundred and twelve square metres. If I am looking for a medium finish how much would it cost? And how long would it take?
I do have 8 bedroom house in TS1. 3 bedrooms are ensuites, and the other 5 remaining rooms are not ensuites. I would like all the 8 rooms to be ensuite. I would like to know if I need planning permission from the Middlesbrough Council before I start looking for builder. Regards David
Hi guys, I am soon to be moving house and I have a small kitchen with a big full length cupboard which houses an RCD. I would like to utilise the cupboard by placing a washing machine or fridge in there and I also believe the RCD needs up dating. Can you tell me if this is possible please, I.e. utilising it for the washing machine or fridge or can i only use it for other storage items.
Hi, i want to run an armoured cable from my garage consumer unit (which is fed from the main house consumer unit) to a garden room that would also have a consumer unit fitted to run LED lighting and small 13A power, is this an acceptable approach or can you not link consumer units? Thanks
Repaired bathroom walls using bonding as removing tiles pulled plaster off. Had quotes from plasterers for skimming but it’s just way out of budget as we are getting someone in to do the tiling. Will tilers tile over a bonding coat?
Can anyone please point me in the right direction where to buy a good and affordable internal door/ glazed internal door?
Roughly how much would it cost to tile a 28m² kitchen floor in porcelain tiles and roughly how long would it take?
