RF IN snapped off my TV

Hi, Unfortunately someone has managed to snap off the aerial connector on my TV when they were mounting my TV on the wall. I am trying to find someone near who can potentially fit a new one on my TV but I have also read about a 'HDMI adaptor' that I could use to get normal TV channels. Does anyone have any that they would recommend? Trying to figure out the best option. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

"I would advise using a freeview box as the aerial plugs into the freeview box then hdmi from freeview box to TV"

"Ouch! I think the best way to work around this problem is to put a mini freeview box behind the TV and then you can plug the aerial feed into that and HDMI out to the TV. The only downside is that you'll have to use two remotes."

"Hi Becki, I agree with the other comments made to get a freeview box and watch Freeview through that by connecting a HDMI lead from the Freeview box to your TV. There are still TV repair technicians that can repair your TV input socket, but this might be more pricey than getting a Freeview box. Guess you'll have to weigh up both cost or what you prefer?"

"I've not seen a specific adaptor as such for sale and just had a look now maybe something similar but have to convert the aerial cable I think...however have you a firestick or similar as you could for now at least, Download the Freeview app and use it via that for now? Also has it snapped off completely or does it have some remaining bits there? Not sure if it lets you post pics on the questions here ... Another option from a cost perspective if no firestick is get a super cheap Freeview box or stick maybe as a temp measure until you get a decent repair price on the socket"

"If you can take the TV off the wall, you should be able to get the shell of the RF connector back out. either with tweezers, a small screwdriver or some needlenose pliers.

Other than that if you Google “Freeview Dongle” on Amazon, then any of those should work, just check for a HDMI connection."

"Common problem - RF aerial input snaps off
Whilst it is actually about 5 minutes to solder back on its probably a 3-4 hour job to strip down your TV and put back together - Unless you TV is pretty new and fairly decent model it will not be worth getting it fixed

As you have aluded to, you can still absolutely use all the other inputs on the TV - HDMI and smart facilities if you have them - So you could buy a very cheap Digi box which will have an RF tuner built in that you can plug your aerial into and then simply select the digibox on your TV as an external source

Its probably an extra Remote to have to use alongside your TV but I guess thats for you to decide how inconvenient it is

Hope this helps
