    Have any experienced painters had to remove lead paint before? Is it dangerous to do yourself? Is it better/safer/cheaper to remove it from timer door and bay window frames or remove and replace them with MDF?

    Using expanded foam to fix roof tiles

    My neighbour has had his roof retiled, this required a bonding gutter to be fitted. On my side of the bonding gutter the roofer used expanded foam to fix the tiles to the gutter, no mortar was used in the centre of the bonding gutter to support the tiles, My believe this is in breach of the building regulations. Could one of your trades people help by informing me if this is against the building regulations. as expanded foam is highly inflammable it may also breach the regulations under the fire break section.     Shower always hot or no cold pressure

    Hi There, i have currently have two showers and recently the one upstairs has stopped providing cold water and is luke warm or goes really hot but when i turn it to cold it stops providing water pressure (could this be related to the Thermostatic mixing valve?) The 2nd issue when i use the downstairs shower it is really hot and stays hot the same tempature no mater which way i turn it hot or cold? any idea what the issue can be? Please note i have a baxi boiler and a have a main indirect cyclinder 250 litre.

    Replacing roof tiles detached house

    My neighbour is being a problem we want to replace a roof tiles on our house. But how would it be possible if he doesn’t allow us access to get scaffolding up on his side. 3 sides of the roof can be replaced but the side which is on the neighbours side won’t be reached as cannot get any scaffolding up. Any idea what can be done.

    Can a newly plastered ceiling be fitted with a heavy ceiling plaster rose?

    Recently I have purchased a new plaster ceiling rose (approx. 90cm in diameter) and I will be having a room re-plastered and decorated in the coming weeks. The decorator I have hired has not had much experience with installing ceiling roses and certainly not one as large/heavy as this one. If anyone has any experience with this, could they please recommend the best options to install it safely and successfully. Many Thanks, P
