Ask your QuestionWhat exactly is a police approved door lock?
Asked by carole on 19th Apr 2022"There is no such thing as police-approved. The police do not have anything to do with the locksmith industry and certainly do not approve locks. Any lock with a British Standards Kite Mark is insurance approved. There are a lot of so-called police-approved locks or security products that have nothing to do with the industry, these people are not experts and do not have any association with any of our associations and could not tell you a functional part of a lock. There are insurance-approved locks these are also British kite marked. This is the tested British standards mark and all locks that have this mark are approved for use and have been tested by the locksmith industry."
