What products do I need to install bathroom tiles myself?

Hello, I will be doing some tiling work in my bathroom to replace some damaged tiles. I’ve not done any tiling work in a bathroom before – so I don’t know if there is any special sealants or other products I should be using. At the moment I am planning to use some bathroom specific tile adhesive and some tile grouting to seal the gaps between the tiles after they have been fitted. Is grouting absolutely necessary if the tiles are already fitted due to the adhesive already? Will I need any other products for fitting tiles? If there is any other tools or products anyone would recommend using to get the job done right, please let me know.

How can I find out if our artex ceilings contain asbestos?

We have recently moved into a new property and found that some ceilings have Artex in them. We are planning on replastering these ceilings, but we want to be sure of any risk of asbestos first. We do not know if they have asbestos in them currently. If there is any asbestos we would want to get rid of it as soon as possible and be rid of it. If there are difficulties with removing it, we would like to be able to manage it safely otherwise. Is there anyway we can find this out ourselves without any danger of asbestos around?

    Noisy toilet / taps

My toilet sounds like a fog horn when you flush it. The kitchen and bathroom taps make a noise when u turn them on. And there is groaning coming from some where in the pipes in the bathroom. I don’t know what it could be.

    Job payment schedules

Hello, Just wondering what a normal payment schedule is in the tradesman world? I've been getting lots of renovation work done recently and everyone seems to be wanting different payments schedules. My bathroom renovator wanted 50% deposit up front but the decorators didnt ask for any. Just wondering if there's a standard deposit/payment plan i should expect?

    Electric shower installation

Do I need an electrician & a plumber to have an electric shower fitted, or are there companies that will have both so I pay one price for the job, rather than get an electrician to do electrics then a plumber to do plumbing?

Bath shower mixer tap vs rear fed shower on the wall

Are deck mounted bath shower taps as good as the shower you would fit on a wall (not electric, normal taps) Good water pressure, new build, so no issues with water normally. I'm looking at thermostatic shower taps, but cannot decide of paying extra for a wall shower is worth the hassle, or would I get as good a shower if we simply get the tap replaced by a mixer tap. Looking at Mira Atom or Aqualisa Midas deck mounted taps. Vs Mira atom wall shower, or Bristan thermostatic shower. Thank you in advance!

What's the minimum width of a corridor?

What's the narrowest a corridor can be in your house? Our bathroom is currently off a bedroom, so building a corridor would make it more accessible. But we're not sure if we can squeeze it in.
