  • Would building a new swimming pool need planning permission?

Hi all I am looking into getting a new outdoor swimming pool installed in my garden soon – it will be a reasonable distance away from the house and be well within my boundaries. Will I need planning permission for this? Will I need to meet any other regulations/permissions? Any info would be appreciated!

How much do waste removal services with skips cost?

Hello, Due to some major renovation work we have planned for our home, we will need a waste removal service to get rid of the junk being cleared out. We would ideally like to hire a skip for the waste with removal service after the renovation is finished. Does anyone have any estimates of the costs for hiring a waste removal service? Do most waste removal companies provide skips as part of the service? Are there any other costs involved?

Can I install multiple switches for the same lights within one room?

I would like to install more switches at two different doorways within the same large room. Ideally both switches could be used independently of each other without any conflict. Is it feasible for me to install the additional switch and make adjustments by myself or is this more for a professional electrician to complete? In either case, is it likely that I will need to repaint or plaster around the switches afterwards? Any advice on this project would be great!

Do i need a thermostat upgrade?

I currently have a Honeywell programmable thermostat which is great. However, when I light my log fire it turns all the heating off so that the rest of the house is cold. Would the solution be to change to a wireless thermostat and if so which one?
