    Adhoc Torch on Felt

I had a roofer inspect a flat roof a couple of months ago, who then made some patch repairs using torch on felt. Another roofer cam to quote for a replacement roof today and said the felt hadn't been torched on properly and water had got underneath the add on section. The felt could be lifted up without much effort and some of the edges on the felt underneath seemed to be peeling away. He then recommended I remove all of the add on felt as this was far worse than just having the felt below it. First of all, how bad of a job is this and secondly, is this likely to have caused any major damage in two months given we've been having a lot of rain? I appreciate any answers and you taking the time to respond.

    Glass Balustrade Staircase

I'm looking to change my wood balustrade to glass. I can't find anything regarding regulations or anything. I have a staircase with a small corner and then the landing. Do i need to use a certain amount of glass clamps? To measure for the glass do i measure the gap and then the angle and then deduct 20mm for each clamp? Not sure the best way to get an accurate piece of glass. For the main staircase it's going to be 2 sections of glass. How big should the gap be between the 2? Thank you for the advice.

How to check a leak from my chimney?

I am concerned about a possible leak from my chimney. The water seems to be leaking through the ceiling of the upstairs walls but it is not far from the point that the chimney flue passes by. Without actually getting up onto the roof, is there any other way I can check whats causing it?

    Tiling over existing bathroom tiles

I am looking to tile over existing tiles in my bathroom. They are porcelain tiles, slightly uneven and a bit worn/cracked and have been there for about twenty years when the house was built and we moved in. Is it okay to tile over these tiles or could it create issues? Thank you!
