How do you stop birds nesting in roof eaves
Birds are back again this year and making a mess. Is there a safe way to stop them without causing damage or breaking any rules?
Can I lift a neighbours tile in order to repair our joint roof
We share a concrete tile roof with our neighbour with the boundary running between rafters on each of the properties. We suspected one of the rafters on our side was rotten and had our roof stripped down to find the extend of the damage, get it repaired and replace the tiles. We did advise the neighbour that the work was going to be carried out. However in order to replace the batons the contractor also removed a line of the neighbours tiles. The work was finished, everything replaced and no damage caused. I apologised for not informing their tiles would be lifted as I wasn't aware they would but the neighbour insists we shouldn't have touched their tiles and wants us to accept liability for any roof repairs they may need in the future. Was my contractor correct in what they did and was I obliged to give more notice I did?

What type of wood is best for roof shingles? And how can I tell if they're good quality and weatherproof? They're for my car port and porch.

Can you replace wooden fascia boards for uPVC? I assume they're mostly decorative and easy to swap? Am I right?
New roof on neighbours
My neighbour has just had a new roof with thicker batons. His roof is now higher than mine. They’ve installed a bonding tray but my tiles are raised at edge sitting on the tray. Therefore 2nd row of tiles are now sitting at a v angle. Neither neighbour nor roofer admitting any accountability saying it’s new regulations on size of batons and my roof needs replacing anyway. I now had a triangular gap in between every tile going up roof in 2 nd row of tiles up the roof. Where do I stand as being unreasonable to correct. No discussion with me beforehand.
How much does it cost to repair a bay window roof?
Not sure if our bay window roof needs a full replacement or just a patch-up, but I want to deal with it. Any idea what the typical cost is for repair?
