sandtoft rivius antique clay tile

Question

has anyone used these fake slate clay tiles ? are they recommended ? approx cost for 1930's 3 bed hip roof semi plus area over bay/front door , 70-75 m2. , replacing welsh slate.....obviously new membrane / batons / ridges reqd.

I used these loads on a sit in Gillingham, they are pretty good and look nice to, probably £10-£13k but different areas will be different

I stay away from sandtoft, get alot of breakages, surprising you can use them to replace Welsh slates.
If you've got permission to change from Welsh slates to anything you choose then go for a marley thrutone to still get the slate effect

I would always go for a natural slate.. or normal tiles,

Yes if used correctly and all prep work has been done properly they can be very good in my opinion

Ive never done a full roof with those tiles ive gust replaces broken ones from a  Reclaimed yard.
