How often should gutters be cleaned

I have read some guides online that suggest this is done twice a year, but is this really necessary? I'm a new homeowner and I don't want to waste money if I can push it longer than that

"You should usually have your gutters cleaned about once or twice a year – ideally in spring after winter and in autumn after the leaves have fallen. If your house is close to a lot of trees, especially leafy ones or conifers, you may need to do it more often, even three or four times a year or at least check them regularly. It’s worth taking a look whenever there’s heavy rain or strong wind, and definitely if water starts overflowing from the gutter, you see leaves or moss sticking out, damp patches appear on the wall under the gutter, or the downpipe gurgles and little water comes out."

"Twice a year would be a good idea to maintain your gutter assure they don’t fail as could cause a leak to your property and cost you a lot more"

"As part of a building company I would suggest that gutters should be cleaned once a year as a regular maintain including all downpipes all joints are inspected

And any fittings that are perishing should be replaced. Make sure all lounge drains are clear as this is where we’re seeing a lot of damp around the home."

"This completely depends on the environment, if you have a lot of tress in the area, or moss on your roof etc... then they will need cleaning regularly. if you are somewhere with no moss or tress etc... then youll not likely need them doing for a while. best thing is to get a survey"

"Once a year would be ok and I’d say change your joints ( unions, stop ends, 90 degree bends, running outlets) every 3-5 years I’d say"
