  • Garage wooden doors

I've read that some garage doors are made of wood. How does this work? Isn't wood prone to rotting and vulnerable to weather damage? Or is a special type of wood used for garage doors?

How can I fix a squeaky door?

My kitchen door has been pretty squeaky for, I’d say, the last year or two. Any ideas, what might be causing this and how can I fix it? Will I need to replace the hinges entirely or is there a way to fix it without restoring to that? I assume it’s the hinges anyway, is there any other potential cause of a squeaky door or just the hinges?

Timber decay and wood bearing insect infestation

Had a survey report which says active and significant timber decay and wood borng insect infestation to floorboards and exposed floor joists within the cellar. Does anyone have any idea of how this would be rectified, how difficult it would be and what would the issues be if we didn't get it sorted soon? If anyone had a rough idea of price I'd be really grateful.
