Who to call for squeaky floorboard repairs

I'm guessing that a carpenter is the best person to call, but is this work that a handyman or some other trade could do for cheaper?

"Ideally a carpenter but you could do it yourself. It depends on what the floor is made of i.e. tongue and grooved boards or sheets. The most common problem with sheets is that they have not been bonded and screwed down,or that an inadequate number of screws and bonding has been used.."

"The best person to fix a squeaky wooden floor is a professional carpenter or flooring specialist. They can identify the real cause of the noise and repair it safely and permanently.
If the problem is minor, a skilled handyman might handle it at a lower cost, but for reliable and long-lasting results, a carpenter is the best choice."

"Some handyman could do, but depends what you have on top of floor boards. If you have carpet, need lifting and lay down after fix, or laminate, or engineered floor they could be issue to lay back. So not be cheap."

"Depending on the size of the job or if the joists need replacing or repairing then a handyman could add extra nails or screws in the loose joist."

"Squeaky floorboards in most cases in new houses are usually caused by pipe runs
But in my experience sometimes if internal walls upstairs are studwork could just be sole plate causing the noise
Hope this helps"
