Hi guys I have a small project going on in my front garden. I am extending my pathway and have dug out the area for the sub base to approx 150mm. I have included a membrane and then compacted the sub base on top and everything looks fine. My problem is that next to the pathway I have a flower bed with a water irrigation system that waters each morning. The soil type is extremely clay like and each morning when I wake up the area where the sub base is laid is always damp. If I stop the watering for a week while the sub base dries and then lay my porcelain tiles using a wet bed of mortar. Once this dries and I turn the irrigation system back on again will the damp sub base cause an issue moving forward? If so how can I stop the water from the flower working its way into the sub base? Thanks
