Hi, How much (approximately) would it cost to install an RSJ to an external load bearing wall between a dining room and extension in order to open the dining room into the kitchen? This is to make an L shaped kitchen diner. This job would involve the removal of a wall below the RSJ, approximately 7ft x 6ft.
I had a smart meter fitted and now my shower only has hot water for 10 mins. Can this be related to my fusebox?
I had new windows fitted 5 years ago without trickle vents. Can I get these fitted retrospectively? Will it solve a minor condensation problem?
Hello. I have a boiler flue that runs through the kitchen wall, into the adjacent room and out through the external wall in that room. I intended to use this room as a bedroom for my little girl. Is it possible ie safe to box a flue pipe in in this sort of situation? Thanks!

I am building a lean-to car port and have installed the 3 uprights in 100mm x 100mm x 3m in oak. I was planning to build the roof structure in softwood using 75mm x 50mm with a 5m long cross member on the top of the oak uprights. Due to an ordering error I have 2 extra 100mm x 100mm x 3m oak pieces. How could I connect these on the top of the uprights, I was planning to use 150mm timber lock through the soft wood cross member but if using the oak would have to abut the 2 ends of the oak beams on top of the centre upright. Is there a special bracket/connector for the centre column? Thanks in advance for your comments. Andrew
We're planning out a small kitchen extension but I'm not sure how many electrical points are needed in a kitchen to ensure we have enough. Any advice or tips on this please?
Quality tiles or quality multi-panels. Which are most cost effective long term.
