  • What trade would I need for this?

Hi all, I'm half way through a home insurance claim for water damage from an upstairs shower. The leaks have been fixed and the structure is now dry. As part of the process the home insurance company outsourced the leak detection and drying out to a company who essentially stripped the ceiling of a bedroom (i.e. no ceiling at all) and removed water damaged insulation. What needs to happen now is someone to put new insulation back, get ceiling plaster board in and decorate I assume. What trades would do this? I'm totally lost and the insurer isn't helping either.

    Tree roots on lawn

Hi, we have just moved into a new home and the garden is in a really bad way. Theres a big tree and the routes are showing up all oner the lawn, theres no grass growth anywhere near it, just dry soil and moss. The other end of the garden has grass but is extremely dry. Is there anyway I could grow the grass back? If not, are there ways i can make it at least look presentable? Thanks in advance for your help

    Dry verge install

Traders on here have been very helpful in the past, hope you can be again. This question is in 2 parts really. I recently had a dry verge installed that was quoted at £650, and was then told that the felt behind the mortar had deteriorated badly so I needed 2 m of new felt and batten which would take 2 days. I was left with a bill for £2.5k, after the work was done in a day. Does this seem fair? The second part of this question is that the dry verge looks very wonky. My understanding is that it should look relatively flush and straight and shouldn't really deviate. Is this right? It looks worst at the peak of the roof where it appears to tilt away from the roof.

    Bath Sealant Problems

I'm having constant issues with the sealant around my bath. When I bought the house, it had not been sealed, the tiles had been grouted against the bath. I took this out, cleaned and sealed. But the sealant keeps failing, going mouldy and we've previously had leaks in to the room below, it also seems to leak through the shower screen as well. The tiles sit just over the bath at the tap end, where the problem is, and butt to the tiles at the other. I need to remove the sealant again for the 4th time but need to know what I'm doing wrong. I am removing all sealant, rubbing down with white spirit and weighted the bath last time to account for movement. Only a little water is getting behind, but the plasterboard is slightly damp so it needs sorting properly. Thanks
