Ask your QuestionI have a large floor area which features a slate tile effect and is a dark grey colour.
I would like to give it a glossier look and have some glossy floor paint that could work to give it a brighter, shinier look.
Would this be recommended on laminate flooring? And if so, is there any special preparation I should make for painting laminate flooring?
Many Thanks

"Laminate flooring is reconstituted wood and hence is very prone to water ingress (it's like a sponge ). If you are going to paint over laminate flooring, then first scratch/key/sand using 60/80 grit sandpaper, then use MDF primer (apply thin coats using a brush, using a roller leaves a stippling effect like an orange peel). Then you can apply your paint, making sure to brush very thin coats, rather than one thick coat( which would crack after a rapid change in temperature)"

Also, your laminate flooring is a high traffic area so will wear. It's a big no. It will all peal up and look terrible."
