"You can get gutter guards which prevent leaves etc. collecting in the gutter causing a dam effect, hope this helps."

"Hi.

You can make sure that the gutter is sitting correctly in the brackets and that there are enough brackets roughly every 70cm apart and also that the downpipe is secure and there are enough brackets. There is also wire messing available to fit between the roof tiles and the gutter to stop leaves from collecting.

Kind regards Steve"

"you could have all the fixing screws upgraded for longer heavy-duty ones or have chicken wire put around them and fixed to the wall"

"Add additional brackets to the gutters, also I would advise adding covers to protect against debris blocking the run of water."

"To always have the check for moss every year and also make sure every 3 years to have the fitting checked yo make sure they are intact as heavy rain and wind can dislodge them."

"Clear your gutters at least three that a year to remove moss and leaves. Check you gutter brackets every 18 months for cracks and being loose."

"Place extra gutter clips on them, sounds like you don't have enough or they are not clipped in."

"Ensuring that all fixings are correct and still secure prior to the start of winter is always advisable.

Prevention will always be quicker and cheaper than any required remedial work, as a result of a breakage to the guttering system."
