    Cracked bricks

There are a couple of cracked bricks on the side wall of my home. They're not connected in one line, so I don't think it's due to movement. What could be the cause?

Where to put acclimatising floorboards when others are being removed

When it comes to wood floorboards acclimatising to a room, once the process is complete, where should I put the floorboards while the old flooring is being removed? I assume they’ll have to leave the room. Won’t that undo the benefits of acclimatising? Should they be moved around the room and simply kept out of the way of the removal work? I’m just trying to figure out how this can best be done. Thanks for your time.

    Joining 2 toilet waste pipes

My house has a shower room with a toilet and another room with a bath. I want to convert the bathroom to an en suite and add a toilet. The toilets would be on the same external wall about 4 metres from each other. Can i join the new pipe to the existing pipe from the outside by simply angling it over 4 meters or should it go into the soil pipe in the floor? If I can angle it is there specifications I need to meet? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Pipes at back of cabinet in the way of the dishwasher

We’ve just ordered a dishwasher (we don’t currently have one) and paid extra for them to install it. The only cabinet we presume the slimline can fit in (and there’s a switch for it above) is a slim cabinet between the sink and oven. We cleared out the cabinet today with intentions of removing it (AO said the space needs to be ready for the dishwasher to be installed) however the oven has a pipe coming out of it which juts out into that cabinet space at the back and will prevent the dishwasher from fitting in. How do we go about getting around this? What sort of tradesmen would I need to request to sort out the oven pipe and cabinet for our dishwasher? It’s due to arrive next Friday!

When to use scaffolding for DIY work?

How can I tell when it is best practice to hire scaffolding as opposed to using a ladder to access a roof for DIY work? Is it related to the extent of the work? How about the height of the house? Are there any other factors I should consider?
