Powering our home office

When we moved into our terraced house, there was a small play house and a shed in the backyard both of which were powered via a non-buried armoured cable that ran to a standard outdoor outlet at the back of the house. We had both removed, and had the wire disconnected as it was clearly not properly installed and wires at the box were exposed to the elements. We then had an insulated summer house built thinking powering it wouldn't be an issue (it's our first house, forgive our ignorance!) We've had an electrician in but he's said it requires us to have the cable running from the fusebox. Understandable. Problem is, that the fusebox is at the very front of our house, and while the first two thirds of the house is floorboards and somewhat accessible, according to our neighbours (we haven't ripped up the floors yet to check) the rear of our house is solid concrete. Do we have any options?

"Have you thought about running the cable externally, up the front of the house and across the loft and back down?"

"Bring it from upstairs outside or upstairs on the side seeing as from the back is a no go. Might be a long armored cable run but other than that the job can be done."

"Can you put some pictures up then we can suggest routes for the wiring.
Maybe up into the loft across the loft and down the exterior brickwork to your building ?"

"if you only need 13 amps just power it from the downstairs socket circuit.
but you'll probably require more for heating etc"

"Electricity is supplied to your outbuilding directly from the main power source of your property. This process entails excavating a trench to the outbuilding and installing a power cable, typically a steel wire armoured cable. Subsequently, a consumer unit is implemented to regulate and protect the electrical circuit within the outbuilding.

It is imperative to underscore that the task of transferring electricity from your residence to an external structure should be entrusted solely to individuals with the requisite expertise and qualifications."

"Hi you can run a cable off the socket in the house if you put a 13amp fuse spur in the garden room this would be fine for a small heater and couple of sockets"

"The previous electrician gave you correct advice, onwards around taking up floors internally woykd be to run tbe cable externally, either around the building (if you're not on the end of the terrace, it's probably not possible, or out the wall, up the building and through tbe roof void.
If you're lucky and your metre is at the rear of the property, you could install a small addon consumer unit in the metre Bix, and run power from there"
