We need a security gate for the path that runs down the side of our house. Can you recommend any brands that offer a good level of security but also look nice rather than industrial?

For a side pathway, I’d look for a gate that combines strong physical security with a residential design, rather than something that looks like a commercial security barrier.
Good options include wrought-iron or steel pedestrian gates with a secure lock, concealed hinges and a robust frame. Powder-coated finishes such as black, anthracite grey or dark green can look smart and complement most properties. If privacy is important, consider a slatted or partially solid design.
For additional security, you could pair the gate with a keypad, coded lock, smart access system or video doorbell, allowing you to control who can enter without relying solely on a traditional key. Make sure the gate is properly fixed into substantial posts or masonry, as the quality of the installation is just as important as the gate itself.
