A large tree in next door's garden has grown so much it now blocks most of the light into our back garden and kitchen window. What are our options?
We want to box in our white goods to make them look nicer, but are there any building regs or issues such as access and airflow that we need to consider? I think there is with boilers but not sure about electricals like fridges and washing machines?
Hi, I'm not sure if it's a chimney specialist, or a builder who has to do this. But basically the house is a semi detached It has a chimney in the living room and the room next to it as well ( kitchen) Upstairs two room and they both have the breast However in the kitchen, they have removed the chimney breast. My question and quote is Can I get the chimney breast in the bedroom upstairs removed? And how much would it cost. Separately the one in the living room and the room above it master room , canthe upstairs be removed if the downstairs is going to be replaced for electric?

Can tiling in a bedroom work? Is there something that can be done to make it work, whether it be purely down to the general design, layout and look of the room? Is there perhaps something more I could do or something that a designer could come in to help with? As I’m interested in the possibility of laying tiles in my bedroom to give it a sort of Mediterranean look?
What exactly is ‘tile reglazing’? What does it involve?
In what cases is it necessary to report an electrical incident to the HSE? Are there specific rules laid out for this?
Can you explain to me what the PEFC is? what the PEFC is?
Hi. I’ve read that it’s cheaper for each person involved if a few of my neighbours and I all had driveways installed by the same construction company/contractors at the same time. Is this generally true or would it only apply in some cases? Might this just be a matter of some contractors offering discounts on bulk deals? I’d like to know how feasible it would be to find a contractor to do this work on discount before suggesting it to my neighbours.
