How long would I need to wait for paint to totally cure? Would it depend on the product or/and number of layers?
- I am purchasing a 3-bed semi-detached house built in the 1930s. - Two internal walls have been removed. (i) Kitchen to Dining room (ii) Dining room to living room - One of the walls is load-bearing. - Sellers do not have Completion Certificates or any form of Building Approval, or any knowledge of when work(s) was done, but the latest one was done over 1.5 years ago. Q. As the buyer, upon transfer of property, what tradespeople do I need in order to secure Retrospective Building Approval? Also, what are the estimated costs for this?
How long should water stay warm with a gas boiler before cooling down again? I want to know how long I should expect the water to stay hot after heating up to use a shower at some point later that day.
I am considering buying a semi-detached property in London borough of Hounslow. If my offer is accepted, can I serve the party wall notice? Can I also start the planning permission process or would it need to be submitted under the name of current owner?
We've got puddles forming on clay soil or garden in our new. What's an appropriate drainage solution? As the external floor was very high and leading to bridging or damp course we've removed it and dug down around 8-10 inches in that area. We've got through some concrete and type one and now found clay which the water sits on. Should I dig further into the clay or just lay something drainable on top? We've removed the concrete along the rest of the side return but not yet dug the type one away there. We have a manhole at the back of our garden which we could potentially channel water towards. Should we remove dig the whole of the side return to the same level? Currently, at least there is plenty of depth below the rear wall meaning it won't bridge the damp course but as it's now the lowest point in the garden I'm concerned that water in the rest of the garden may drain towards that area and cause problems.
Hi, is there a minimum distance the switch should be sited from a freestanding electric cooker? My switch would appear to be in the hot zone above and to the side of where the cooker goes.
Can I lay laminate flooring (with underlay) over glued down vinyl sheet flooring? Do I need to use a vapour barrier if I lay the laminate over the vinyl sheet?
How much would building regulations approval cost for removing a chimney breast?
Is it possible to put a tiled or solid roof on my uPVC conservatory?
Was just looking for indicative prices for a loft conversion for a mid terrace house with pitch roof please. Just to be turned into a third bedroom. Not sure if we'd go for Dorma or Velux style. At the moment we're not fully sure that it's something we want but would really appreciate some information on costings to help us with our decision. Loft is 3.62m wide, 9.1m deep and 3.1m high.
