".

3. Convert the existing loft space into usable floor space by removing any unusable space (such as hallways, stairs, and bathrooms) and adding any new space created (such as new rooms).
In general, the area of the converted upper floor is less than 35% of the area of the original house"

"Easiest way is to measure the house front to rear and width, side to side
That should give you a reasonably accurate measurement of the loft area without having to go into the roof space"

"The net amount of usable floor area for new loft room(s) can be calculated by deducting the space lost around the edges near the eaves where height is less than about 1.2m, and then making an allowance for the new loft stairwell, plus obstacles like chimney breasts. You may need to hire a Surveyor to do the measurements and the make a plan measurements"

"First thing is the space at the bottom of the roof is only good for storage or walldrobe as you can only use were you don’t bang your head so that tells you you’re area to measure unless you cut the roof out for a window ect ,,"
