"We recommend that you install a doorbell because you can see who’s coming and going and always remember to ensure your home when you’re waiting for a delivery this is because criminals can get an idea what’s valuable in your home also remember to properly dispose of any packaging and remove postage labels"

"You don’t need to spend a fortune to make a big improvement to home security over Christmas. The key is to make the property look occupied and remove easy opportunities for an intruder.
Use timer plugs or smart plugs to switch lamps on and off in different rooms, keep doors and accessible windows properly locked, and make sure side gates, sheds and garages are secure. Motion-activated exterior lighting can also be an inexpensive deterrent.
Avoid leaving presents, electronics or other valuables visible through windows, and don’t leave packaging for expensive items outside where it advertises what is inside the house. If you are going away, ask a trusted neighbour or family member to collect post, move bins and generally make the property look lived-in.
A basic video doorbell or a small number of correctly positioned cameras can also provide useful coverage without the cost of a complete alarm system.
Most importantly, good locks, sensible lighting, visible deterrents and everyday security habits often provide better value than simply buying lots of equipment."
