Why does my house alarm keep going off

Since a recent power cut, my alarm keeps going off. What is going on with it? Can I try anything before calling someone?

"You will most likely need to perform a user reset with your user code. If this doesn’t work, it could possibly be the back up battery in your panel."

"There could be a few factors to consider when dealing with security alarms going off randomly especially after a power cut it could be that the battery is old and due a replacement and a serviced on the system feel to contact us for further information. Merry Christmas."

"If it is wired alarm system most likely battery inside alarm box is dead. As you mentioned there was battery cut."

"Your alarm is going off after a power cut because its backup battery is likely dead or too weak to maintain the system, forcing the alarm to sound to signal a fault, which happens more often with older systems or those needing maintenance, and the quick fix is often replacing that battery in the main control box"

"Hi,

This is quite common after a power cut. The alarm system may be showing a fault, usually due to the backup battery or power supply not restoring properly.

As a quick check, please try entering your code and resetting the system. If there is a fault message on the keypad (such as battery or tamper), this can help identify the issue.

If the alarm continues to trigger after this, it will likely require an engineer visit to replace the battery or investigate further.

Please let us know what message is showing on the keypad, and we’ll be happy to assist further."

"I would check sensors are working properly as in light up when your in the room don't when your not use you camera phone to see if any of the sensors are false registering.

If competent you may want to test the battery as this is a common thing when the battery has been drain or is just old."
