How do I get a guarantee certificate for a new roof?
Our roof was replaced in the spring and the roofer keeps promising the guarantee paperwork but nothing ever turns up. We're hoping to sell next year. Is there a certificate he should have registered somewhere?

"There isn’t usually one central guarantee certificate that every new roof gets registered for.
Normally the roofer should provide their own workmanship guarantee, and there may also be separate manufacturer warranties depending on the products used.
If Building Control was involved, there may also be a completion certificate, but that’s separate from the roofing guarantee.
I’d just contact the roofer in writing and ask them to send over whatever guarantee was agreed when the work was done. Since you’re planning to sell, it’s worth getting the paperwork together now rather than leaving it until later."
