Roof verge mortar repair cost

the mortar along the gable end verge has cracked and bits keep dropping into the garden. roofer quoted £450 to redo it, does that sound about right or should i get more quotes in

To be fair if he is doing it right and taking each tile out and putting new undercloak in then the price isnt far off also depending on access

As long as all the pointing gets done further 450, not just a tiny job

installing a dry verge system would eliminate this problem and depending on whether scaffolding will be used and size of gable , guarantees you need to explore your options.

For an average roof it seems right. it could vary dependant on access and length of verge.

It all depends on is it only one verge or 4 verges if it was a detached property ??
If it was all 4 verges it would be a cheap job if it was only one verge i would say yes get another quote.

Seems very reasonable price I would proceed and ask them if there any guarantees as if not done right may crack

Honestly it depends on what kind of tile/slate is on your roof and whether it just needs repointing or a full rebed.
For the price of £450 id take the slates off the gable end rebed and repoint the full verge.

If it's tile it should be less.
Also depends on the pitch of the roof 
And hight, does it need scaffolding?
