How much are kitchen spotlights

I have 2 lights in my Kitchen/Diner and looking to replace them with a dozen spotlights. These will need to be fitted from underneath i.e not taking carpet up from above. What should i expect to pay for the job and will a plasterer be needed after ?

"Hi, it depends on quite a few things. For the work itself, you could expect to pay £7-35 per light(dependent on quality) then a price of around £150-£200 for the work. It will need repairing after the work is done, but this can be just patched up."

"I agree with one of the earlier comments for an electrician to visit and also give a free quote.

I've just been out to one in Manchester this week though only for 7 down lights, the price came to £402.00 which included labour, materials and downlights 8Watts with a 5yr guarantee on the lights.

Though the customer may chose their own lights as long as they are approved by a manufacturers guarantee.

Fully tested, Certified and Building Control notified as the work is being done in the Kitchen

Though the plastering is extra. to be done by a plasterer.

Are 12 lights necessary ?

I am not the cheapest though I do a thorough job, as you can read my Testimonials"

"Depending on fittings selected price would vary around 300-400. This would not include any patching of ceiling once spotlights are installed"

"Difficult to answer. I would suggest getting an electrician round to survey it. If you can access from above, then it adding the additional spot lights in areas that are either side of joists. It would require a fair amount of ceiling to be removed and almost for certain a plasterer would be required."

"£330 with materials included spots and may not need plasterer all depending floor Joyce direction"

"12 spotlights seems quite a few, you would be looking around the £250-£300 mark plus plasterer, above would be a easier option"

"Hi,

Approximate cost £300-£400. If the ceiling is In relatively Good condition (plasterboard) we can patch plaster ready for a decorator to do the final fill before painting etc.

"Yes indeed can install extra spots from kitchen area, will fill any cutting, ready for painting.
Cost within £250-£300"

"Hi
Yes can be done from underneath but will look messy to begin with. Can cut a strip of plasterboard out to get cables through and if a plain plaster finish could maybe do this for you . Cost will depend on what type of light you wish but maybe £50.00 per light"
