Do I need a permit for a security system?

Is an alarm permit necessary if I want to fit a security system to my house? In what cases might it be needed and when might it prove unnecessary? Thanks for your time.

"If you are a homeowner and the view of the camera is on your own property you do not need a permit. You should have signs up that clearly shows you have CCTV."

"Only if it's a listed building, also some landlords don't want their floorboards and any other stuff moved within the property. The best bet is to have a wireless intruder alarm fitted by myself, and you don't have to ask questions."

"A. D. T alarm (domestic) will require a contract documentation with the local constabulary,

"As a rule, you do not need a permit only possible reason is if the building is listed or has any clauses on it on having anything on the front of the building."

"Hi Greg,

No, you don't need a permit to install a security system. If you have CCTV installed, you would need to display a sign that clearly states, "This property is monitored by CCTV 24/7" so that people are aware you are recording them when they enter your property. Other than that, having an alarm installed is fine you don't need a sign for that as you will have an outside siren that displays you have an alarm and it will have a tiny LED strobe light that will emit all the time."
