Is polymer render better than ordinary cement render and if so why? Does it cost more?
Hi I will appreciate any advice. I had full 2 bedroom renovation done in November/December 2020. All walls and ceilings skimmed, plastered and painted white. Now straight after the paint dry there were few cracks visible on the ceiling and down the wall corners. Now 4 months on on my hall wall plaster is coming off and paint is fleaky from right on the middle to the bottom, now behind this wall is a bathroom shower with wet wall. ( There is no visible leak, no water on the floor, shower battery is fitted opposite to the wall with issues) Could there be possible leak behind wet wall or the plastered wall isn't done correctly? I am not sure if I could post a picture to visualise my problem. Thanks in advance
Is fibre mesh used in roughcasting and if so what are the advantages
Hi there the ceiling above my back door has a hole in it and the walls leading down towards the top of the door, are all cracking, so i’m looking for a plaster. What kind of job is this does it need plastering ext?
Which would be the easiest/quickest and most beneficial to use?
Hello, what would be the average cost of one external wall being rendered? I am currently renovating a home and it is in need of some TLC :-) Thank you
Do you render and then put fascia on after or fascia first and render up to it?
Hi We had a room skimmed back in August, and have just got round to having it painted. Soon after the painting had been completed we noticed some bubbling on the surface of the wall. We mentioned this to the painter and his team visited this morning. It seems that the plaster skim has not bonded to the wall and the addition of the paint has caused the plaster to delaminate. The wall is very chalky where the plaster is coming off the wall. It looks like the skim coat has bonded to the paint that was on the wall as opposed to the wall struggling to decide what needs to be done, do we just get the blown patches filled, the plasterer has suggested that would suffice, or should we, and I hesitate to suggest this, remove the whole skim coat and start again from scratch?
Some mild rising damp identified on internal walls. Builder has slabbed directly to wall. Damp proofer advised wall should have pressure treated timber Barton before board went on. Which is better? Will putting board to wall cause more damp as there is no cavity for wall to breathe?
I've just had the walls skimmed in my lounge and I'm eager to get it painted. How do I know if the plaster's dry enough to paint?
