How long will it take to move a internal door? The wall is timber framed with plaster board
I recently got external rendering done and as a result the windows cills have been reduced and needs extending. I was thinking of putting a 9mm fascia capping board with various widths to create overhang of 40-50mm & fix it with silicone sealant. Metal sills are very expensive hence this option. I wanted to know which tradesmen can do this type of installation - carpenter / window person or general competent builder ? Also where I can look for such person please - I posted a job with photos but no response.
What exactly are the differences between a carpenter and joiner?
Is sapele a good hardwood for staircases? I'm told it looks a bit like mahogany, but I don't know much else.
Hi I had panelling put in by a building company and it’s a botch job! Uneven edges just poor finishing, I can’t live with it and want to redo it which tradesman is best to use? Also need to replace shower with something more powerful and am looking at options for sink ie need storage. It’s not a huge room and I don’t want clutter. What would be best?
How can I figure out what size shed I should have installed?
I'm wanting to take down and reerect a 10 x 6ft summer house. The thing is it has electric sockets, light and is boarded inside. The electric from what I can see it run from an outside plug so not underground. What would be the best way to go about it all? I've taken down many sheds so would imagine the house in itself would be the same process, but would the internal boards need removing first? Thanks
Can you explain to me the labelling of MDF boards? What do these labels mean?
What are the advantages and disadvantages of prime grade wood flooring? When would it be most suited to use?
I'm looking to change my wood balustrade to glass. I can't find anything regarding regulations or anything. I have a staircase with a small corner and then the landing. Do i need to use a certain amount of glass clamps? To measure for the glass do i measure the gap and then the angle and then deduct 20mm for each clamp? Not sure the best way to get an accurate piece of glass. For the main staircase it's going to be 2 sections of glass. How big should the gap be between the 2? Thank you for the advice.
