"Like myself, im a carpenter which is someone who can fit all first and second fittings. First fix... joists, stud partitioning, pitched roof or/and timber trusses.

Second fix.... architraves, doors, locks, door frames, timber flooring, fitted kitchens...etc etc

Shuttering Carpenter..constructing vertical and horizontal columns and beams for concrete to be poured into as well as constructing concrete flight of stairs which you will find and see on building sites.

A Joiner is someone who constructs and make timber windows, doors, table chairs...etc etc...within a joinery shop"

"This is a question often asked as joiners today are often looked at as the person on building sites dealing with all things wood, However traditionally as the word infers a joiner was a tradesman who joined pieces of wood in a workshop and the carpenter was the tradesman who made, constructed and repaired wooden structures"

"I’m a qualified carpenter/joiner. The trades are one and the same but there are a few tradespeople that focus on one particular side of the trade i.e. frames and finishings."

"Seems so many people still don't know, even ones that claim to be a Joiner/Carpenter!

A Joiner works in a workshop, building windows, doors etc, then the Carpenter fits them.

Carpenters also build roofs, fit skirting boards, floors etc"
