Hang internal doors to a metal frame

I have recently moved into a council house, I don’t have a single door that closes properly and most don’t have handles. I really need to replace the bedroom doors, however the frames are metal with the hinges welded on. As I don’t own the house I really don’t want to go to the expense of replacing all the frames, is it possible to hang new doors onto the existing frame?

"Yes, it’s a standard install. Shouldn’t be an issue."

"It is, you just leave the frames and hinges in place, remove the door from its hinges and mark the hinges on the new door, then chop them out in the usual manner and fit the door."

"Yes it is possible but the frame might be out of square so be careful measuring up the door opening. But it is possible if you know what to do."

"Until you see what's on the spot, you can't say yes. But in principle it should be possible."

"yes, it is, there are suitable fixings/hinges for that, but as it is working with metal, and not wood alone, it may be more expensive."

"Surface fix new hinges with self tappers and cut old off with disc cutter neatley"

"Yes, this can be done with ease.
Remove the loose pin to the hinges, shoot in the door as usual ( plane the door to fit into the door frame), margin at head of door frame, mark out where hinges are, cut out hinges on door & fit, hang door to metal hinges. Perfect. Jay
