Install UPVC Window cills

I recently got external rendering done and as a result the windows cills have been reduced and needs extending. I was thinking of putting a 9mm fascia capping board with various widths to create overhang of 40-50mm & fix it with silicone sealant. Metal sills are very expensive hence this option.

I wanted to know which tradesmen can do this type of installation - carpenter / window person or general competent builder ?

Also where I can look for such person please - I posted a job with photos but no response.

"Any competent person can cut and fit this. The issue is closing the ends off with a 40/50mm gap. Not sure they do a cap end for this product. You could mitre the ends but this is a more skilled process."

"Thank you for your question! Given the nature of the work—extending the window sills using fascia capping board—a few different trades could handle this. A competent general builder would likely be suitable, especially if they have experience with exterior finishes and detailing. Alternatively, a carpenter with experience in external cladding or fascia work could also carry it out effectively. Some window installers may be able to do it as well, particularly if they offer repair or finishing services.
It’s a good idea to check that whoever you choose is comfortable working with the materials you’ve selected and can ensure a clean, weatherproof finish. Since you’re not going with metal sills, making sure the installation is properly sealed and durable will be key.
Hope this helps!"
