"First try to remove any excess material on the wall that is stopping the skirting from sitting flat if this still doesn't set flat then use screws and rawl plugs to secure the skirting to the location you require depending on the wall depending how many screws and rawl plugs do you need"

"It really depends how wonky they are. Assuming that what you mean by wonky is, not level, to the point where there is gap between skirting and the wall, then it depends on how big the gap as well as where the gap is.

For instance, if the gap is less than 5 mm, you can just add some shims to keep the skirting board straight; at the end you could then add caulk.

Or maybe you can get away with just following the wall if you plan to have furniture hiding that area.

Otherwise, you may just have to replaster.

as you can see, it really depends on how bad it is."

"Use a hammer & be bolster to be remove as many high or protruding pieces of plaster / render as poss then after cutting the skirting to size use lots of "no more nails" or a similar adhesive onto back of skirting then after pushing hard back to wall use some some 30 mm finishing nails from a finishing nail gun thru the s kk Irving onto the slightly higher parts or put some lost head nails for the sam we effect untill the adhesive goes off ( around 5/6 hours or so) then take the lost head nails out with a claw hammer gently does it , then use painters caulk to fill in any gaps along the exposed top edge of skirting for a nice finish easy peasy or ask Glover's joiners to do it lol"
