Hi, we're looking to purchase a semi-detached 3 bedroom house but the building survey pointed out there's ongoing penetrating dampness was noted in the two rear chimney breast. Some of the neighbouring properties have damp stains in the same position on the external walls, which indicates a design flaw that will need intrusive investigations of the roofs. Surveyor also suggested it may be necessary to remove all chimney breasts. How much does it cost for the damp proofing work above and turnaround time? Many thanks
Is AC or DC current safer? And why? Thanks!
Is there a way for me to tell precisely how permeable my driveway is? I’m trying to figure out how well it deals with water.
We had a radiator installed a few months ago (Oct 2024) and all was going well - over the past few days we’ve had a LF code come up on our boiler which seems to resolve itself after resetting the boiler. Today the boiler would not resolve the LF code after resetting the boiler until we have turned off the new radiator that was installed. Any ideas? Initially when the new radiator was installed we had a issue with the boiler itself after the system was bled (this was resolved after cycling the boiler a few times)
I live in a 3 bed semi with solid walls. We had an independent damp survey which revealed the walls are extremely damp. His recommendation is to hack off existing render and replace with lime render. A rendering company has recommended a silicone render on top of the existing render or external insulation with silicone render. I don't want to get this wrong so I would welcome any opinions/comments. Many thanks.
