Temp roof Scaffolding

I am having a loft extension done and there is a £3500 cost difference in gutter hight scaffolding and temp roof scaffolding. It is a mid terrace property and we are doing a dormer and retiling. How many of you do loft extensions with out a temporary roof?

"The Job Can be done without a Temporary Tin scaffolding roof however I would strongly advise you opt for one especially this time of year when the UK the wether can be horrendous.

Also by opting for a Temp roof you will have a faster turn around on your Job as your trades will not be Rained off, or effected by the elements causing gaps in the schedule and delays."

"Depending on time of year and size of loft conversion generally you will not have to have tin hat scaffolding if you have at least a 2-3 day dry spell things can happen quickly as long as pre planning is taken in to consideration also the back up of temporary covers such as tarpolings and the team required to ast as quick as possible once the roof has been disassembled"

"This answer all depends upon the beautiful British weather but would recommend this type of project in a time of better weather conditions so that the cheapest option is suitable and damage to property from the elements is minimal"

"Yes, that’s partially correct. The cost difference for a temporary roof can seem high and, in some cases, it could be done more cheaply. However, it’s often used because it helps the job run more smoothly and reduces delays caused by weather, particularly when re-tiling. That said, a loft extension can still be carried out without a temporary roof if the team is experienced and used to working with roof coverings, as builders will normally have assessed the risks before deciding on the approach."
