    Non return tap connector

I want to connect my hot and cold outdoor taps to one hose for washing the car etc . As they dont have an inbuilt non return valve cani just use a hoselock type non return valve on both taps , then connect to hose via a splitter/ y branch without any further plumbing. Also are they required on both taps, or should I have to replace both taps with built in valves?

Should I leave the upstairs windows open?

How risky is it to leave an upstairs bedroom open when no one is home during the day time? Do burglars try and enter upstairs windows very often or is this an unlikely occurrence? The bedrooms can get very warm during the day especially in the summer months unless a window is kept open.
