My bathroom has walls with artex. Can I plasterboard over the artex walls and then apply wall paper/plaster or even paint?
Hi, I have a lathe and plaster ceiling that has been wallpapered and painted over, the paper is peeling and it looks awful. I don’t know if it’s even worth attempting to get the paper off or if the ceiling will need to come down regardless. Roughly how much would you charge to remove it and replace? It is 3.5m X 5m and 2.5 m high.
Are hairline cracks in an artex ceiling something to be concerned about. They have, apparently been there for years and would polyfilla work?
I have just bought some mdf skirting primed, do I need to under coat and how many coats of top coat please?
I got magnolia plasterboard walls in flat bathroom and kitchen painted good job but lounge wall gone patchy streaky after 3 coats it's like plasterboard is sucking in the paint.
Hi. We recently had insulation done in a small extension that has a small apex roof. The man doing all the work for us, advised us that we could heighten our internal ceiling by removing the ceiling joists before putting the insulation in. We had a back and forth about safety and he said cause it’s a small roof, there wouldn’t be too much weight on it. It’s about twenty five square metres of a space. He said that he could cut out blocks of wood and screw them in between each rafter so that each rafter was connected to another one with a small block of wood between them, but no collars or joists. Insulation went in, plastering completed and now about 4 months later, large hairline cracks are appearing in various spots on the roof, one side to the other. Got worse after a storm. Were we played for fools by listening to him? And will it eventually collapse or spread so much that it cracks much worse?
