Hello I have a silver birch tree in my garden, adjacent to my house. It is getting quite tall and is getting very close to the gutter. I would like to get it trimmed down to a more reasonable size to reduce any risk of strong winds causing the tree to cause damage to my house. Is there a best suited time of the year to cut the top of the tree off? I am worried cutting it before or during winter may kill the tree, which I definitely don’t want. Any advice on this would be appreciated.

Hi all, I have a bedroom loft conversion which is entered with an open stairway (approx. same height as a standard door frame and was hoping to have louvred doors as the entrance to the bedroom. Would it be possible to hang to louvred doors in front of the staircase? I would like to have them hinged centrally to be bifold – as the landing space would be quite small. Would this require a full door frame for the louvred doors or is there any other options? For example, could I hand them off the side of the wall or attach to a wooden baton for the hinges? Thanks Han

Hello, Due to some major renovation work we have planned for our home, we will need a waste removal service to get rid of the junk being cleared out. We would ideally like to hire a skip for the waste with removal service after the renovation is finished. Does anyone have any estimates of the costs for hiring a waste removal service? Do most waste removal companies provide skips as part of the service? Are there any other costs involved?

Recently I have purchased a new plaster ceiling rose (approx. 90cm in diameter) and I will be having a room re-plastered and decorated in the coming weeks. The decorator I have hired has not had much experience with installing ceiling roses and certainly not one as large/heavy as this one. If anyone has any experience with this, could they please recommend the best options to install it safely and successfully. Many Thanks, P

Hello all I have a hollow bedroom door currently, which I would like to add a lock to. Is this possible to install, or would I need to replace the door for this? Is there any adjustments I could make to a hollow door to enable a new lock to be fitted?
