Ask your QuestionIs it possible/safe to hang a chandelier over a bath tub? How can I tell whether this is safe and if it can be done? What needs to be checked? Is it okay to install this DIY? Can I perform the checks myself to verify that it’s okay to install a chandelier here or will I need to hire a bathroom fitter?

"Directly above the bath or shower tray up to a height of 2.25m from the floor. Light fittings installed in this area should be IP44 or higher. If the fitting is 240V a 30ma RCD must be used to protect the circuit.
I would recommend you speak with an electrician."
"Always consult a qualified electrical engineer as this would be considered very high risk!!"
