Do I need a chimney to install a log burner?

House is newbuild with no chimney. Want to replace electric fire with a log burner but need to know if its possible without a chimney?

You do not need a chimney to install a log burner but it will.require more work as this will require a twi wall flue system though the roof or wall of your building

Yes this is possible with a hole drill from the inside to the outside and pipework going through and up the side of the house.

We would locate the fire in a suitable location and sit on a slate hearth for example and take the flue outside and up the outside wall
