Does coating stone walls in thermal paint actually work? Will it make my home drier and warmer or is this a gimmick?
I have caulked between the French doors and edges of the walls in my dining room, however when putting emulsion over it once it is fully dry, the paint almost disappears into a watery type texture. I presume this is due to moisture? I fi were to put primer/ undercoat over the top to act as a sealant, then reapply the emulsion once fully dry, would this do the trick?
Just how secure are Wi-Fi-enabled security alarms? I am considering having one fitted at my home but I am not sure how prone these sorts of alarms are to being hacked.
I've got an old oak tree that's dying. It has a preservation order on it. Will a tree surgeon be able to work with me to stabilise it for as long as possible and guide me on replacing it when the time comes? The tree is on open land, so it's no real danger to people. I just want to make sure I'm fulfilling my responsibility. Is there anything I need to do before it's worked on?
It wasn't doing this when we last used the heating, but it was noticeable when we turned on the heating yesterday

Is it okay to fit luxury vinyl atop a hard surface floor? If so, are there any notes of caution I should take into consideration? Also, could I do this DIY or should I really hire a professional?
Hi. Looking at getting my external walls replastered on the inside, the original horsehair lime plaster is coming away as we've replaced the windows. What would tradespeople recommend to replace with? I am hesitant to use hardwall due to the fact its a double brick skin and will carry some moisture naturally and needs to breathe. I have found this product: https://proofshield.co.uk/product/prooftherm-insulating-render-plaster/ which we are considering using Thanks
