Increasing head height in upstairs rooms

The upstairs rooms in our cottage have very low ceilings. I'm wondering whether it's possible to remove them and use the loft space as the extra height. Before I engage a local builder to advise me, is this something that can be done in general?

    Fit a shower in bedroom

My daughter’s bedroom is next to the bathroom and the bathtub faces her room. My question is, can we get a shower installed in her room like an ensuite (minus the toilet and sink) using the existing plumbing and drainage from the bathroom? There is a window that we can use for ventilation.

    New Build Apartment Plaster Cracks

We have an apartment in a large, newly built apartment building. It is a monolithic structure with concrete block dividing walls. The block was covered in plaster and painted. We now have a crack in the plaster a few months later. Our contractor said to wallpaper because plaster walls could crack due to building settling as the apartments are all built out internally. We wanted paint though. The crack basically follows where a channel was carved into the plaster for wiring. It is not one clean crack, but rather a series of many hairline cracks that from a meter or two away looks like one crack. It seems there are many opinions on how to fix suck cracks. I do not understand the best way though. How should I repair it?

    Regular problems with blockage

Hello. I have lived in my property for a year and a half and since then I’ve had to have my drain cleared 7 times. Waste backs up and has been coming out of my guttering drain. It’s not flowing into the manhole and off into the main sewage line. I’ve had 2 cctv drain survey's done and they see no issue with the drain. My kitchen sink also gurgles and makes noises especially when my washing machine is on. I had the drain that all my kitchen and bathroom water goes to apparently that’s clear too and see no issues. What could the problem be please? Hope I’ve explained this clearly.

    Curved ceilings lots of condensation

Hello, I’m wondering if you have any advice. My house had curved ceilings upstairs, which the last two winters have had bad condensation/water once it gets cold outside. Is this made worse by putting the heating on? The house is very cold particularly on the one side, which sees the worst of the condensation. From previous advice it’s something to do with a large uninsulated gap where the curve has been put into the ceilings. Do you have any advice long term and short term? Thank you, Emily

Who is responsible for settlement cracks after recent work?

We've had some work done on the house downstairs recently, essentially converted the whole thing to open plan. Looks great and I thought the builder was good and reputable. But now we've got some cracks upstairs and people are telling me it could be because the builder did a bad job? Can anyone who does this kind of thing for a living lay it out for me? Could this be a normal thing, or should I get in touch with insurance about something like this?
