"In wired alarm technology, a “zone” is a detection unit that is monitored by the system; this could be e.g. a movement sensor or a magnetic contact. A zone is an input on the PCB."

"Zones are the separate areas you would like to protect. By zoning you’re property, you can adjust settings for each room or entrance.
You can set different areas or all together.

Typical setup could be
Zone 1: Entrance.
Zone 2: living room.
Zone 3: dining room
Zone 4: kitchen
Zone 5: Upstairs hall.
Zone 6: Garage.

Hope that helps"

"Hi Sharon, a wired alarm "zone" is simply a detection zone, ie - hall, lounge, dining room etc. These would all be separate zones."
