Ask your QuestionHello, I’m buying a house. It has Artex ceilings ( May have asbestos as the house is from 70s) I want to have spot lights installedIn the living room and kitchen and the ceiling plastered and skimmed. Do I have to get the ceilings plastered first and then lights installed? What are the safety considerations around making holes in a ceiling that possibly contains asbestos.
The bedrooms above have carpets and floorboards underneath ( as I was told)
Thank you

"As advised below have asbestos issues resolved firstly, an electrician should wire your spotlights as there is no knowing how much damage could be done by the electrician then lastly the plasterer."

They're very helpful and will help to carefully dispose asbestos,
Once the asbestos cleared, to the satisfaction of building control, and health and safety then installation of Downlights can be discussed, when all is safe."
