Space lost to stairs in loft conversion

How much space are you likely to lose from an existing bedroom to accommodate the stairs up to a loft conversion?

It all depends on where stairs are situated normally on outside wall following the stairs from ground floor anything from nothing to 500 mm

Generally 1000mm to allow for width of the staircase but done properly space beneith will b utilized by storage,on suite etc.
